What We Believe

…about the Bible

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We further believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, therefore, both the old and new testaments are relevant and beneficial for Christian living today.

…about God

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons who are co-equals: the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God.

…about Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His substitutionary and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.

…about the Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.

…about Salvation

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.

…about Eternal Life

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.

…about Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe it is important to uphold the Scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism by immersion and the regular taking of the Lord’s Supper. We do not believe that either of these practices is necessary for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose

Reach Up, Reach In, Reach Out

Our Purpose comes from the Biblical text of Matthew 22:36-40; 28:19-20 which states the following:

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40 [ESV]

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 [ESV]

In summation:

REACH UP TO GOD We exist to enter into a love relationship with God and to celebrate His presence.

REACH IN TO GROW We exist to grow as Christians while doing life together.

REACH OUT AND GO We exist to help all people know God and experience His gift of eternal life.
